Why have 'DEBATES' become...

a matter of who throws-out the most 'ZINGERS-or-GOTCHA-lines'??? Yes some lines are more memorable than others LLOYD BENTSEN's line to DAN QUAYLE "...that you are no JOHN KENNEDY" or RONALD REGAN's line to WALTER MONDALE about his age - but is that all that we turn in too??? FOR ZINGERS??? Don't we analyze a candidate's decorum, demeanor, his-or-her knowledge of the facts, yes their looks; but don't we judge them on the 'whole package' and not just their ability or not to spout one-liners like late-night comics/entertainers???

PAUL NEWMAN is dead...

PAUL NEWMAN was a fine actor. Liked him best as HUD. Also played good roles as 'FAST' EDDIE although never cared for his early roles in a lot of TENNESSEE WILLIAMS plays brought to the screen. Appreciated his 'older roles' in ROAD TO PERDITION, NOBODY'S FOOL, and THE HUDSUCKER PROXY. In addition NEWMAN was a philanthropist giving awat most of his earnings from food-market-companies and made a good lemonade and a good salad dressing product. My condolences to his family, his friends, and his legion of fans.

AS MUCH AS I HATE TO ADMIT IT - if IF THIS PLAN CAN CONDUCT ITSELF WITH A MEASURE OF IMPARTIALITY/PROPIETY AND NO INSIDERISM-or-CRONYISM FROM WASHINGTON WHICH BESET THE FAILURES OF FANNIE MAE + FREDDIE MAC - then THEN THIS 'SOCIALIST SCHEME' HAS A CHANCE OF GETTING THE TAXPAYERS OFF THE HOOK IN A-YEAR-OR-TWO-OR-THREE AND ACTUALLY MAKING MONEY OFF THESE BANKS PRESENT 'WORTHLESS' SECURITIES!!! 'SOCIALISM' NO - saving the UNITED STATES + world financial markets - YES!!! SENATURD BARACK OBAMA is quite wrong/incorrect when he labels this a "...world economic crisis".
